Development Working Group
The responsibility of the Development Working Group is:
- Supporting the detailed design, planning and implementation of the programme of capital works.
- Ensuring that the fitting out and equipping of the building meets operational and community needs.
- Overseeing procurement and appointment of contractors and suppliers.
- Considering and exploring all potential commercial opportunities for the building.
- Helping to develop a sustainable realistic price structure for lease and room hire rates.
- Acting as ambassadors for the project.
- Encouraging membership of Wells Maltings Trust through word of mouth, contacts and events.
- Promoting volunteering opportunities.
- Collecting email addresses to help build the Maltings contact database.

Sackhouse draft designs
The Maltings Project has been working on draft designs for the conversion of the Sackhouse into a dedicated youth space plus a range of work/business spaces, hot desking and conference facilities. The idea is that the space will be a flexible resource in the centre of the town for local businesses, especially start up enterprises and smaller local business people.
