Heritage Working Group

The responsibility of the Heritage Working Group is:

  • Building the heritage offer at the Maltings by developing a series of heritage initiatives with a broad appeal, for example events and exhibitions.
  • Ensuring this heritage offer meets the needs of funders by including learning/educational elements and activities specifically for young people.
  • Evidencing the interest in heritage activities by collecting audience data.
  • Working with other heritage providers to support and enable programme development.
  • Using these heritage initiatives to help raise income for the Maltings project.
  • Supporting the detailed development and planning of the new Museum.
  • Acting as ambassadors for the Maltings Project.
  • Encouraging membership of Wells Maltings Trust through word of mouth, contacts and events.
  • Promoting volunteering opportunities.
  • Looking for opportunities to raise awareness of the project for example at heritage events.
  • Collecting email addresses to help build the Maltings contact database.
  • Suggest ideas for and support community fundraising initiatives with a heritage angle.
  • Work collaboratively with other working groups to deliver the aims of the project.
