Here at Wells Maltings Project we want to stay in touch and let you know of the latest progress which may have an impact on you. Here’s whats happening over the next few weeks:
Tuesday 7th February: The power supply to the existing Tourist Information Centre will be disconnected by UK Power Networks. This work will include digging a channel to expose the power cable on Staithe street. A section of the road will be closed during this piece of work. Estimated duration: 1 day.
Wednesday 8th February: The Tourist Information Centre building will be surrounded by Heras fencing and dismantled by D R Cole demolition contractors. The building is being removed to make space for the foundations of the new extension. Estimated duration: 1 week.
Monday 13th February: Scaffolding will be erected around the Maltings building to create the builders compound for the main construction works. Estimated duration of main works: 12 months, with the new facility due to reopen in Spring 2018.
The Maltings car park in Jicklings Yard and the Pay and Display car park on Staithe street will be unavailable for public car parking during the build work, the private residents car parking spaces will be kept accessible during the works. We sincerely apologise for the disruption that the development will cause and any inconvenience caused during the work. Thanks for bearing with us and we hope you look forward with us to the opening of the fantastic new facility next year.
