A Welsh-language drama set against the wide open landscapes of North Wales.
The film follows Effi (Leisa Gwenllian) as she navigates being out of work, clubbing and hangovers. Blaenau Ffestiniog is slate country, “the town that roofed the world”.
As Effi says,“tough place, strong people. No choice really, sink or swim.” A chance encounter at a nightclub with injured soldier Lee (Tom Rhys Harries) gives Effi a brief glimpse of a different life – until a difficult reality follows.,
Directed by Marc Evans, whose previous work includes Mr Burton. An adaptation of a much lauded mono drama, Iphigenia in Splott by Gary Owen.
