Kevan Taplin is an acoustic singer/songwriter and poet who has had songs taken to Nashville and requested by a National Archive. He has also been invited to perform twice for the Poet Laureate. Taplin started writing when Roger McGough allowed him to put a couple of his poems to music and persuaded him to start writing. Both his poetry and songs are lyrical as well as narrative, ironic and sometimes delivered with humour. He also musically draws on influences, such as Sandy Denny, Jackson Browne, John Martyn, Van Morrison as well as drawing on the guitar work of Graham Nash, David Crosby and David Lindley to deliver material in Americana West Coast, Folk and blues styles
