In 2022, Wells Maltings was instrumental in forming the NR23 Group, a collective of artists and makers living and working in the Wells next the Sea area. The group’s broad aims were to support local artists, and provide a showcase for work within the Maltings exhibition programmes.

Since then, the group has flourished and grown, and now presents its fifth annual exhibition, featuring 23 artists – a combination of regular NR23 contributors and first time exhibitors – across a variety of forms and styles, responding to this year’s theme of Encounters.

NR23:26 Encounters runs from 4 to 13 September, daily between 11am and 4pm, and entry is free.

As in previous years, we’ll be running the People Choice poll, with cash prizes for the most popular work, and a chance to win yourselves by entering a prize draw. Most work is available to purchase, further supporting local artists and makers.
