Take a walk in the imagined shoes of residents who once lived and worked in Wells next the Sea.
These artfully created shoes were made specifically for this heritage trail by Wells Primary School students as part of A Walk in Wells Footsteps: Funky Shoe Trail Summer 2019 of 15 Historically Significant Houses around Town.
Each grade has been asked to interpret local history to represent the lives of the people of Wells based on local history research. The students bring history to life through the shoes of a person who might have lived or worked in the house to reflect the heritage and spirit of local homes or businesses on our trail.
Shoes tell a story. Everyone’s shoes are completely different – the colours, the styles, the shapes – but everyone’s shoes are part of them. Trail maps available at the Wells Maltings for only £1.
