After many years of planning, development, fundraising and community input, the former Maltings building on Staithe Street has been transformed.
The Wells Maltings renewal and refurbishment project to develop an arts, heritage and community centre in Wells-next-the-Sea, North Norfolk, secured nearly £5m of funding through grants and public donations, including Heritage Lottery Fund support of £1.92m.
We’d also like to gratefully acknowledge other charitable trusts and foundations who have funded the project, such as The International Fund for Arts and Culture, Business Rates Pool Fund, Garfield Weston Foundation, Clore Duffield Foundation, Foyle Foundation, FLAG, as well as North Norfolk District Council and Coastal Communities Fund amongst others. We have also received generous private and public support.
