Sheringham Shantymen come to the new Maltings

The pride of Sheringham flex their vocal chords and prepare to delight audiences as part of our preview season on Saturday 30th June.

The history of the Sheringham Shantymen goes back to 1988, when a group of local lifeboat men and friends formed a shanty singing group to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the lifeboat the ‘Augusta’. They enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to continue. During those first few years as they expanded they welcomed a variety of singers and musicians to join the group. They have been known as the Sheringham Shantymen since 1990.

Although the group’s members nowadays are from a variety of occupations but they have remained true to their roots and still maintain a very close connection with the RNLI .

The Maltings is delighted to welcome them to perform as one of the venue’s very first public events.

The show is on Saturday 30 June at 7.30pm at Wells Maltings. Tickets are £10, from the Maltings box office 01328 710885, or online by clicking here.
