So, after many years of fundraising, planning, preparations, discussions, designing, building, fitting and kitting out, Wells Maltings is now well and truly open!
Thousands of people have already visited this wonderful new £5m arts, heritage and community centre which opened its doors to the public back in July 2018. This multi-faceted place began with a “soft season” while different aspects of the building were completed and now includes a state-of-the-art theatre/cinema, Heritage Centre, Visitor Information Centre, attractive café and bar, and a series of community spaces.
Thanks to the restoration and repair of the Grade II-listed former Maltings building, the site has been transformed into a sustainable, exciting year-round destination for locals and visitors alike and, as you will see from this website, there is always something going on, from music, film, drama, dance, comedy, art, poetry, heritage, family activities and much more.
Take a look at the ‘What’s On’ section to find out what’s coming up and sign up to our regular email newsletters to find out about forthcoming events.
Wells Maltings is open to all – young, old, locals and visitors – and everyone is welcome, so come on in!
