WISH YOU WERE HERE

A collection of photography, art and craft from our
local community under lockdown.

How has your lockdown been? Do you have a photograph that captures your experience? Was there a moment where you saw the light in the quarantine darkness?
We know how important creativity can be for our mental health.
A simple frozen moment can make all the difference – whether that’s a photo of your sunbathing cat, a crochet project or a painting of your garden.

Wells Maltings would like to give you the chance to share your lockdown photos and see them on display. We invite you to send in your photographs depicting life during lockdown in Norfolk, from sweeping landscapes to silly pets, family portraits to artistic compositions. They don’t have to be technically brilliant – they just need to tell a story that you want to share with others.

30 photo submissions will then be chosen to be displayed in the Handa Gallery at the Maltings in mid September, and we will be asking the public to vote for their favourite photo. There will be prizes for the top three!

We would also love to see your art & craft projects from the past few months. If you have made something during lockdown that has made you feel a little better, or just let out some of the quarantine blues, please send us a photograph or digital file. The originals will then be displayed at the Maltings alongside the chosen photographs.

We are looking for anything from poetry to paintings, textiles or pottery.
If you’ve made it, and you love it, then we want to see it!

We need your submissions by 5pm on Friday 28th August please. Maximum two per person.
