The Tailleferre Ensemble is a UK- based chamber collective founded in 2019 by oboists Nicola Hands and Penelope Smith. The ensemble specialises in promoting women in music, and their debut album “There are Things to be Said” was released in 2023, receiving reviews of “superb musicianship” and “effortless” performance.
This programme includes a vibrant range of repertoire for flute, oboe, and bassoon, such as works by Haydn, Alyssa Morris, Vivaldi, and Elisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre. The concert will showcase several examples of elegant music from the baroque era, as well as beautifully lyrical wind writing more generally.
