The Lounge-next-the-Sea

Upcoming Events

The Lounge

The Lounge next the Sea is a new youth club, run by Wells Maltings, open to all young people in our community aged 11 -16. First pilot sessions started in September 2023 after a period of consultation with local young people about their needs, and are going from strength to strength. Sessions are £1 only.

Young people can come together and socialise in a relaxed, friendly and safe environment, with plenty on offer: pool, table hockey, table tennis, Nintendo Switch gaming and more. Refreshments also available (small charge made).

We also include a few specials, such as film nights (where you choose the films to watch in your own private screenings), participation workshops in arts, crafts and personal wellbeing, and more.

Sessions are supervised and run by Maltings staff and volunteers, together with external workshop leaders, all trained and DBS cleared. Click the button below to find out more!

Meet the Team

Group sessions run once a week during term time, and schedules can be found here on this page, with details of any special activities planned. Details are also available on display at Wells Maltings, in the centre pages of The Quay magazine, and via our Facebook and Instagram feeds.

If you or someone you know may be interested in joining The Lounge next the Sea, or would just like to come along a take a look, we’d love to meet you. Also, if you are able to give time as a volunteer to help, or have a skill to share with young people that you feel would be of interest to them, contact Lounge project leader Katy Moore [email protected] 01328 711378.

We are grateful to those who generously support the Lounge next the Sea project. These include Wells Carnival, Holkham Foundation, Groundwork UK/Tesco Community Grants and too many individual donors to name. Thank you all!

GET IN TOUCH WITH US…

Norfolk Community Foundation is a charity dedicated to building stronger communities and improving the lives of people in Norfolk. We bring people together who want to make a difference where they live — whether they step up to take action themselves, or support those who do with an investment of funding or time. Supporting over 2,000 small charitable groups working on the ground, our work touches 1 in 4 people in Norfolk – from those dependent on local practical and social support, to whole communities benefiting from improved buildings and green spaces. By bringing people together, we can do more. What can you do?

A Rave to Remember!

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of those who could make it to our very own ‘Grave Rave’ this Halloween! The atmosphere was spooky, the costumes were scary and the music was brilliant! Please take time to look through our highlights below and remember…if you couldn’t make it this time round, there will always be next year
