Show Information
An evening of sublime music courtesy of The Curator.
The Curator is Norfolk based musician, writer, arranger and composer Alistair Murphy, who released a new album, Living Space in September 2023. It is the sixth Curator album, following Sometime Soon (2010), Inside The Whale And Other Stories (2013), Where The Stars Will Give Way To The Morning (2018) Twenty-Six / 12 (2019), and All Lombard to a China Orange (2021).
The new album features his live band augmented by drummer Ian Burrage as well as performances from Pigbag’s Chris Lee on trumpet and flugelhorn and Gryphon’s Brian Gulland on oboe, recorder, and bassoon, He describes the new album as a lament for a lost future.
He has worked with many notable musicians in his career, in particular Judy Dyble of Fairport Convention, Terry Stamp of the proto-punk band Third World War and Tim Bowness of no-man.
His music is not easily classifiable (although he may be). He is inspired by music stretching across many times and genres. He tries not to repeat himself.
The Curator will be appearing with Mark Fletcher on Bass, Jez Salmon on Guitar and Steve Bingham on Violin
