The Wells Heritage Centre at Wells Maltings is well worth a visit.
This fascinating place features two large downstairs galleries dedicated to the intriguing history of Wells-next-the-Sea. Explore this new interactive space, packed with informative panels, digital screens, costumes and other props, and find out more about sea and shore!
The galleries are devoted to interesting facts and figures from Wells’ past, as well as featuring some of the town’s famous historical faces. Plus, children will enjoy following the Smugglers’ Trail, with clues throughout the galleries with a sticker and small prize at the end.
While you’re there, make sure you watch ‘Watermarks’, a specially commissioned animated film by Tracy Satchwill which charts the captivating history of Wells-next-the-Sea.
The Wells Heritage Centre Open is now free entry and open daily from 10am to 4.30pm (last entry 4pm).
